Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you book through one, this site may earn a commission. It never costs you more, and it never changes what gets written.
In plain terms
An affiliate link is a normal link with a tracking code attached. If you click it and go on to book a hotel, a train, a tour or a hire car, the company pays this site a small share of what they earned. You pay the same price you would have paid going direct.
This is how the site is funded. There is no paywall and if there ever ends up being any sponsored content on the website, it will be clearly stated.
What it does not affect
Scores and rankings are set before any link is placed, using the rubric in our methodology. Commission rates play no part in them. Where a recommendation names one option over another, it is because of the option, not the rate.
Criticism is never removed to protect a commission. If a market is overcrowded, overpriced or disappointing, the page says so, whether or not there is a bookable link on it.
Who the partners are
Where affiliate links are used, they point to established booking platforms for accommodation, rail and coach, flights, car hire, tours and tickets, and travel essentials. Outbound affiliate links are marked rel="sponsored" in the page’s HTML, which is the standard machine-readable signal for exactly this.
